Can PVC be pyrolysised into oil?
Among the many types of plastics, PVC and PET are not suitable for oil refining.
First of all, the chemical properties of PVC plastics determine its unsuitability in the pyrolysis oil refining process. PVC plastic is a polymer containing chlorine. When pyrolyzed under high temperature heating conditions, it will produce a large amount of harmful substances, such as hydrogen chloride and dichloroethylene. These harmful substances will not only cause serious corrosion to plastic refining equipment, greatly shorten the service life of the equipment, but also pose a potential risk to the health of operators.
